chrispb123456 Posted April 29, 2012 Report Posted April 29, 2012 Dave if it's any help I have the number of a guy iv'e used for 8 years he's based in Maidstone but he's mobile so comes to you, tell him what you want to do he'll tell you whether that's feasible to test the rest of your system, or may have another way to do it. His name is Steve "Keep Kool" 07960 869688 Quote
Bigjeeze Posted April 29, 2012 Report Posted April 29, 2012 I had that same pipe go on mine a few years a ago - the new pipe cost Quote
bigdave982 Posted April 30, 2012 Author Report Posted April 30, 2012 Bigjeez, agreed not too bad pricewise,if i knew it was a working system, but I dont. Its a lot of money to just find out if the system works or not. After all I could spend that only to find the condensors got a big hole in it as soon as a vacuum pump is attachedBut thanks anyway Quote
alan_131 Posted April 30, 2012 Report Posted April 30, 2012 I'm not sure if this would work but rather than alloy welding has anybody tried durafix easyweld (or anything like it) for this? Sounds fairly diy friendly - not really welding, more brazing but they say it's very strong...). My a/c is u/s at the moment and I'm going to give it a go if it turns out to be ally pipe/heat exch leaking... (I have a low pressure switch flagged in vagcom, not done a manual pressure check yet - on the list....)Good luck! Quote

jonbob Posted May 12, 2012 Report Posted May 12, 2012 I have got the same problem with the same split on the u bend, not got round to getting it off yet (due to typical British May weather-not needed), but have been quoted Quote
